Back in the Early 2000's the Bowden Annual Luau began as a humble affair, with a small group of Family and Friends. At the time, I hosted many gatherings, from weekend BBQ's to Halloween and Christmas parties. The Luau gave me another opportunity to bring together Family and Friends to reconnect and enjoy a fun day at the "beach"! It was at one of my Annual Luau's that I was fortunate enough to have my lovely wife say, "Yes!" when I proposed.
Our lives have been consumed by activities both important and not-so-important. This can make it difficult to slow down and spend more time with those that we love. I am hopeful that each Luau, gives us all the opportunity to slow down, get some sand between our toes, reconnect and share some stories and laughs!
The Bowden Annual Luau has grown significantly over the years! While it may not be Annual anymore and other parties have faded, this event has endured... all these many years... because it has brought so many smiles and laughs to myself, my family and dear friends. I look forward to seeing you at the beach!
